Comparison of Drug-Coated Balloon Treatment of Femoropopliteal Artery Disease

As endovascular options for treatment of peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAD) continue to evolve, interventionalists are left wondering what treatment is best for their patients. Relatively new to the market, drug coated balloons (DCB) have been studied in clinical trials using strict inclusion criteria in patients with femoropopliteal occlusive disease causing claudication. The utility of DCB, however, has expanded to patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI), longer lesions, and multilevel disease.
