Informing Telemetry Use in Post-Operative Vascular Surgery Patients Dysrhythmia in the Vascular Quality Initiative

According to national guidelines the use of post-operative telemetry (POT) monitoring is reserved for patients undergoing cardiac procedures or ischemic cardiac symptoms and not indicated for asymptomatic patients. However, they acknowledged that major vascular surgery procedures deserve unique consideration. The purpose of this study is to define the rates of post-operative dysrhythmias (PD) after major vascular operations using the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) registry to identify who might benefit from POT.
