Washington University gets $11.5M grant to study Down syndrome in babies
Washington University School of Medicine has received a five-year, $11.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to study brain development in babies with Down syndrome and how it differs from that in other babies. The study hopes this will lead to therapies to counter developmental delays in children with the condition, officials said.
The grant is part of a $77 million initiative that started in 2018 to boost basic and clinical research on infants and children with Down syndrome.…
