Eating Out for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease

Implementing certain behavioral and dietary interventions can promote improved health outcomes, quality of life, and health behaviors for many chronic diseases. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is no exception. Self-management through diet provides beneficial results in reducing symptoms and tapers disease progression.1 Those with CKD are recommended to adhere to renal guidelines; however, making changes in one's diet presents as a difficult task. Today's dietary culture in America has made it challenging to maintain healthy eating habits, especially in a restaurant setting.
