Conclusion: the risk of CNS damage is higher in patients who did not receive antiretroviral therapy when the number of CD4 lymphocytes ≤ 100; the most common etiology of CNS is tuberculosis; for patients who did not receive antiretroviral therapy with CD4 ≤100, it is necessary to include brain neuroimaging techniques and the study of cerebrospinal fluid in the diagnostic algorithm.
