Late Breaking Abstract - B cell adaptive immune profile in emphysema-predominant COPD
Conclusions: The extent of emphysema, and not the severity of airflow limitation, is the strongest predictor of an upregulation of the B cell immune compartment in the lung. A B cell endotype associated with emphysema could define the clinical phenotype (likely emphysema) that could benefit from therapies targeting B cells, leading to earlier and more personalized therapeutic interventions for COPD.
