Surgery of IA stage lung carcinoma. Sublobar resections. To Whom and When?

Conclusion: Five-year survival is higher in the I group (p>0.05). But mortality from cancer recurrence is lower in the II group (p<0.01). So, sublobar resections can be justified from an oncologic consideration in IA lung cancer and acceptable in high risk patients.A careful assessment of regional lymph nodes is also necessary to avoid palliative operations.
