Authors: Bakewell C, Aydin SZ, Ranganath VK, Eder L, Kaeley GS Abstract Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) affects up to 30% of patients with psoriasis and may include musculoskeletal manifestations such as enthesitis. Enthesitis is associated with joint damage, and early detection and treatment are essential to management of the disease. Traditionally assessed by clinical examination and conventional radiography, entheseal inflammation can now be more accurately assessed earlier in the disease using techniques such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and molecular imaging. However, there is litt...

Subungual hematomas can be a terror. They are painful, ugly-looking, nefarious, and sometimes confusing. The ultimate goal is to drain the accumulated blood and relieve the painful pressure. The best intervention is easy and straightforward: Leave the nail in place, and evacuate the blood under it. Abstract Psoriasis affects 1-3% of the population and up to 1/3 of psoriasis patients have underlying psoriatic arthritis (PsA)1 . Non-specific musculoskeletal complaints are even higher, being around 50%2 . Detecting early signs of PsA and early treatments are crucial to improve the outcomes to prevent progressive, damaging arthritis3 . Due to the high frequency of non-specific pain in psoriasis, it is not possible for every psoriasis patient with joint pain to be assessed by a rheumatologist. We examined 16 patients: 6 with AD and 10 with PV. Every patient was examined and medical history was taken. Subsequently photography, thermography and high frequency ultrasound (33 MHz and 75 MHz) of skin lesions were performed.
