Growing evidence supporting the use of mesenchymal stem cell therapies in multiple sclerosis: a systematic review

ConclusionsMSCs transplantation proved to be a safe and tolerable therapy. Their potential therapeutic benefits were also validated. However, larger placebo controlled blinded clinical trials will be required to establish the long term safety and efficacy profile of these therapies for MS. Their translation into the clinical practice can provide a new hope for the patients of this highly debilitating disease.

ConclusionCombined Rendez-vous isthmoplasty is feasible, safe, and effective in experienced hands, giving the surgeon a comprehensive evaluation of the anatomy of the isthmocele, and increasing the odds of a complete resection and restoration of the anatomy 4, 5, 6, 7. In this patient, the procedure was uneventful, without any intra- or postoperative complications, and the symptoms were completely controlled.

ConclusionsThe results from our small study have significant implications––symptoms, clinical presentation or classic radiological findings perhaps cannot reliably separate MS from NMOSD. If our study findings can be replicated, guidelines to diagnose MS ought to recommend that NMOSD be excluded first despite typical clinical and radiological findings pointing to MS.

Conclusion: Our findings indicate that acute MOG-Ab ON shows florid intra-orbital and peri-optic inflammation, likely to involve meninges and nociceptive fibers around the optic nerve. This may explain the frequent and often severe frontal or orbital headache that precedes the visual deficit, sometimes misdiagnosed as migraine.
