Conclusions:Human fibroblasts display a phenomenon of global topographic differentiation, which is maintained inisolation via in vitro assays. Epigenetic mechanical influences on vocal fold tissue may play a role in uniquely modellingand maintaining the local environmental cellular niche during homeostasis with vocal fold fibroblasts distinctlyspecialized related to their anatomic positional and developmental origins established during embryogenesis.

This article aimed to investigate effects of exosomes secreted from miRNA-29b-modified bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) on SCI. Exosomes were extracted from BMSCs transfected with miRNA-29b or negative control (miR NC). SCI rats were injected intravenously with exosomes (control exosomes, miRNA-29b exosomes) and BMSCs (miR NC, miRNA-29b) through the tail vein. In this study, we found that ozone-gas-mediated removal of hydrocarbon contaminants and introduction of –OH groups significantly increased the surface hydrophilicity of acid-etched Ti without changing the original surface topography. Ozone-gas-treated Ti dramatically enhanced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, as evidenced by greater cell proliferation, alkaline phosphatase activity, and bone-like nodule formation compared with original Ti.Graphical abstract

We describe the generation and characterization of an in vitro progressive fibrosis model that uses cell types derived from induced pluripotent stem cells. Our model produces endogenous activated transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) and contains activated fibroblastic aggregates that progressively increase in size and stiffness with activation of known fibrotic molecular and cellular changes.
