Severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) is a leading cause of death and neurologic disability worldwide. Although numerous previous studies have reported a positive effect of mild hypothermia treatment on sTBI, recent randomised controlled trials have not shown consistent benefits.

This study demonstrates a correlation between servo-controlled mattress temperature during TH and short-term outcome. CONCLUSION: This study indicates that 2-iminobiotin is well tolerated and not associated with any adverse events in neonates treated with therapeutic hypothermia after perinatal asphyxia. Target exposure was achieved with eight doses of 0.08 mg/kg q6h. Optimal duration of therapy for clinical efficacy needs to be determined in future clinical trials. Conclusion: Using three different strategies to either prevent formation or enhance elimination of O2⋅_ during the post-asphyxial period, we saw both reduced leukocyte adherence and preserved BBB function with treatment.
