Initial accuracy and reliability of current BDS-3 precise positioning, velocity estimation, and time transfer (PVT)

Publication date: Available online 16 November 2019Source: Advances in Space ResearchAuthor(s): Pengfei Zhang, Rui Tu, Wenjun Wu, Jinhai Liu, Xingxing Wang, Rui ZhangAbstractThe primary system of Chinese global BeiDou satellite system (BDS-3) was completed to provide global services on December 27, 2018; this was a key milestone in the development process for BDS in terms of its provision of global services. Therefore, this study analyzed the current performance of BDS-3, including its precise positioning, velocity estimation, and time transfer (PVT). The datasets were derived from international GNSS monitoring and assessment system (iGMAS) tracking networks and the two international time laboratories in collaboration with the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). With respect to the positioning, the focus is on the real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning and precise point positioning (PPP) modes with static and kinematic scenarios. The results show that the mean available satellite number is 4.8 for current BDS-3 system at short baseline XIA1–XIA3. The RTK accuracy for three components is generally within cm level; the 3D mean accuracy is 8.9 mm for BDS-3 solutions. For the PPP scenarios, the convergence time is about 4 hour for TP01 and BRCH stations in two scenarios. After the convergence, the horizontal positioning accuracy is better than cm level and the vertical accuracy nearly reaches the 1 dm level. With respect to kinematic scenarios, the accuracy ...

This study characterized wear behaviors of casein (3–5% w/w, 200 mM NaCl), κ-carrageenan (0.8–1.2% w/w, 100 mM NaCl), and whey protein gels (13% w/w, 50–150 mM NaCl) at room temperature (20 °C) under several normal forces (0.1–1.5 N). A kernel-based model was used to characterize hydrogel wear behavior by separating the deformation–wear process deformation-dominant, constant wear rate, and failure regions. Higher normal force and lower polymer concentration showed higher constant wear rates and lower durability. The kernel model was able to characterize hydrogel wear-deform...

Considering the difficulties linked to the organoleptic evaluation, specially the high number of samples to be assessed, setting up instrumental methods to support sensory panels becomes a need for the olive oil sec...

The thermodynamics parameters related to the double H+/e− free radical scavenging mechanisms were calculated in the gas, benzene and water phases. In the investigated phases, ferulic acid with the COOH group or COO− group and it...

Authors: Montazeri K, Bellmunt J Abstract Introduction: Since the approval of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), there has been continuing and significant progress in urothelial cancer (UC) treatment. However, only about one fifth of UC patients respond to ICI. Recently, erdafitinib was developed for treating locally advanced or metastatic UC (mUC) with FGFR3 or FGFR2 alterations, accounting for 15-20% of patients. Erdafitinib is the first targeted therapy ever approved for mUC.Areas covered: This review summarizes the preclinical and clinical data on erdafitinib for UC. This study presents a device for efficient, low-cost and eye-friendly overnight disinfection of contact lenses by visible violet light as an alternative to disinfection with biocide-containing solutions. Bacterial solutions with one Pseudomonas and one Staphylococcus strain each were irradiated for up to 8 h in commercial transparent contact lens cases by the presented light-emitting diode (LED) device. Samples were taken at different intervals and distributed on agar plates. The surviving bacteria were determined by counting of colony-forming units and compared to the specific requirements of the stand-alone test for cont...

Publication date: Available online 7 December 2019Source: Journal of Sound and VibrationAuthor(s): Feng Feng, Xiannan Meng, Qiang WangAbstractThe spectral acoustic analogy (AA) theory is used to study the acoustic generation by a pair of co-rotating vortices from the decomposition of wave packets. The use of a two-dimensional spectral AA formulation is based on the data obtained by conducting a direct simulation of unsteady compressible Navier-Stokes equations. By way of the spectral AA theory and convolution filtering operations, the role played by the wave packets of the vortices in the generation of the sound are thorou...
