This trial was designed to compare the perioperative and early oncological outcomes of these techniques.Outcome measurements and statistical analysisThe outcomes of interest included 5-yr recurrence-free survival (RFS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), and overall survival (OS). Kaplan–Meier curves were used to plot the recurrence and survival data. The curves between RFS, CSS, and OS were compared using the log-rank test. A two-sided p value

Purpose of review To summarize recent publications on the topic of laser in urology and explore new developments which may impact the future role of lasers in surgery. Recent findings Ho: Yttrium-aluminium garnet (YAG) laser with Moses technology allows less retropulsion during a lithotripsy, yet its efficacy needs to be tested in clinical trials. Data on the efficacy of this device for benign prostatic obstruction treatment is also pending. A new promising generation of laser systems – thulium-fiber (Tm-fiber) lasers – has been introduced. Tm-fiber has already been shown to be effective and well tolerated...

ConclusionsLRNU outcomes are not dependant on the type of endoscopic approach performed. The open extravesical approach is a more difficult technique and could worsen the oncological outcomes when compared to the intravesical. Abstract Endoscopy may be used for early screening of various cancers, such as nasopharyngeal cancer, esophageal adenocarcinoma, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and bladder cancer, and performing minimal invasive surgical procedures, such as laparoscopy surgery. During this procedure, an endoscope is used; it is a long, thin, rigid, or flexible tube having a light source and a camera at the tip, which facilitates visualization inside the affected organs on a screen and helps doctors in diagnosis. ConclusionTotal transanal mesorectal excision has been shown to be a viable method for oncologic resection of locally advanced rectal cancer with curative intent.

DISCUSSION: US survey underestimated the incidence of PLG compared to the histological finding (p=0.021). Female gender has been shown to be a specific risk factor for benign and malignant PLG and non-polypoid mucosal lesions (p=0.041). The parietal lesion size

ConclusionIn contrast to the ROLARR trial, a higher conversion rate was found in the robotic cohort, which may in part be explained by a learning curve effect. Nevertheless, the Da Vinci –assisted approach showed favorable results regarding sexual function.

During the surgery, intestinal malrotation was diagnosed and Ladd procedure was performed. Ileal conduit was performed on the left side after considering the course of mesentery. Although a final diagnosis was reached during the surgery in this case, the presence of int...
