CONCLUSIONS: Although intra-operative assessment reduced the need for CTx in 21%, up to 30% of patients would still require a second operation. Altering the pre-operative criteria does not influence this outcome. Patients deemed eligible for lobectomy should be informed that despite careful pre- and intra-operative assessment, there is up to a 30% risk of requiring CTx. However, their relationship with the coronary circulation, particularly in coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD), is unclear. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to compare these non-invasive measurements to coronary microvascular function following endothelial independent, endothelial-de...

CONCLUSIONS: Real-time CT-ultrasound fusion imaging is easy to perform, and provides precise localization of the puncture point, path, and target point. The selected puncture path was reasonable, and the needle had reached the target point accurately, which increased the success rate of puncture without radiation exposure. In this study, we compared different anesthesia and operation methods for modeling VX2 hepatocarcinoma in rabbits. Forty New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: A, B, and C. Group A underwent ultrasound-guided implantation and intravenous anesthesia; Group B underwent ultrasound-guided implantation and inhalation anesthesia; Group C underwent laparotomy implantation and intravenous anesthesia. Anesthesia and operation differences were compared between groups A and B, and A and C, respectively. We used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess tumor formation and growth, and pathological examinat...

Publication date: Available online 10 December 2019Source: Seminars in Ultrasound, CT and MRIAuthor(s): Satheesh Krishna, Ashley Leckie, Ania Kielar, Robert Hartman, Ashish KhandelwalAbstractCystic renal masses are common incidental findings on cross-sectional imaging. Accurate characterisation of cystic renal masses is essential to guide management. Renal mass protocol comprises of a good quality non-contrast, corticomedullary and nephrographic phases with each phase providing complementary information for diagnosis. Attenuation measurements in different phases are central to the ‘golden-rules’ in renal mass i...
