Midterm Outcomes of Surgical Repair of Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection to SVC

Conclusion PAPVC to SVC can be safely managed by multiple techniques. Careful manipulation nearby sinus node must be emphasized during double-patch repair to prevent injury of sinus node. Obstruction of postoperative SVC stenosis should be paid attention to after Warden procedure. For young patients, operation should not be performed that early, but until preschool age. In conclusion, T2D impairs vascular function by dysregulated autophagy. Therefore, autophagy could be a potential target for overcoming diabetic microvascular complications. To What Degree Does Loss of Skeletal Muscle with Age Contribute to Immunosenescence? https://www.fightaging.org/archives/2019/11/to-what-degree-does-loss-of-skeletal-muscle-with-age-contribute-to-immunosenescence/ Sarcopenia, the progressive loss of muscle mass and strength, is characteristic of aging. A perhaps surprisingly large fraction of the losses can be averted by strength training, but there are nonetheless inexorable process...

The dynamic endovascular environment of stent grafts may influence long term outcome after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). The sealing and fixation of a stent graft to the aortic wall is challenged at every heartbeat, yet knowledge of the cardiac induced dynamics of stent grafts is sparse. Understanding the stent –artery interaction is crucial for device development and may aid the prediction of failure in the individual patient. The aim of this work was to establish quantitative stent graft motion in multiphasic electrocardiogram (ECG) gated computed tomography (CT) by image registration and segmentation techniques.

CONCLUSIONS: A novel methodology to quantify and visualise stent graft motion in multiphasic ECG gated CT has been validated in vitro and tested in vivo. This methodology enables further exploration of in situ motion of different stent grafts and branch stents and their interaction with native vessels. ConclusionsAtrial fibrillation, but not atrial flutter, was associated with reduced survival in our repaired TOF cohort. Further studies are required to determine if more aggressive antiarrhythmic therapy will improve survival in patients with atrial fibrillation.

We report a case with the simultaneous occurrence of pseudo-aneurysm of the left ventricle and ventricular septal rupture, which was successfully surgically repaired. A 77-year-old woman with a history of aortic valve replacement and coronary bypass graft presented to our clinic due to chest pain. She was diagnosed with anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) based on an electrocardiogram. Echocardiography revealed pseudo-aneurysm of the left ventricle and ventricular septal rupture. Coronary angiography revealed 99% stenosis with delayed contrast filling in the mid left anterior descending artery. Surg...
