VijayalakshmiAbstractThe present work investigated the possibility of enhancing hydroxyapatite (HAp) bioactivity by substituting silver oxide. Ag2O-HAp nanoparticles were synthesized by using the wet precipitation process with exposure to DC glow discharge non thermal plasma. The phase purity, elemental composition and morphology were analyzed by XRD, FTIR, SEM and EDX. MTT assay for Silver oxide doped hydroxyapatite (Ag2O HAP) nanopowders (NPs) have been carried out for MCF-7 breast cancer cell line and the cyototoxicity effect were analysed. The biocompatibility of the synthesized silver oxide doped HAp proves it as promising candidate for upcoming biomedical applications.
