The impact of Hidradenitis suppurativa on work productivity and activity impairment.

The impact of Hidradenitis suppurativa on work productivity and activity impairment. Br J Dermatol. 2019 Nov 08;: Authors: Sandhu VK, Shah M, Piguet V, Alavi A Abstract Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is an inflammatory skin condition affecting skin fold regions. HS is associated with a marked reduction in quality-of-life (QoL), financial burden,1 and high incidence of comorbid mental illness.2 This disease begins in early adulthood, a time of psychiatric vulnerability and immense professional growth. This is a critical time in planning careers and establishing social contacts that overtime may change an individual's life course.3 However, there is limited research on HS's impact on employment and work productivity.
