M044 rapid paclitaxel desensitization in a patient with good response to standard protocol
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, with a high incidence of hypersensitivity reactions (HSR) to first-line chemotherapeutic agents. There is a 9% risk of HSR to taxanes during the first infusion. Two mechanisms could explain the immediate HSR to taxanes: complement activation caused by the emulsifying agents used in its formulation and an IgE-mediated reaction.
