Densification of Ce0.9Gd0.1O2-δ interlayer to improve the stability of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8 O3-δ/Ce0.9Gd0.1O2-δ interface and SOFC

In this study, 2 mol% Co(NO3)2•6H2O was used as the sintering aid, GDC interlayers with 2 mol% Co(NO3)2•6H2O (Co-GDC) were sintered at 1150 °C, 1200 °C, 1250 °C and 1350 °C, respectively. The Co-GDC interlayer sintered at 1150 °C was porous, but only closed pores existed when the Co-GDC interlayers were sintering above 1250 °C. The initial ohmic resistances of the cells with Co-GDC interlayers sintered at 1150 °C, 1250 °C and 1350 °C were 0.259, 0.266 and 0.299 Ω cm2. After the cells running for 100 h, the ohmic resistances were 0.289, 0.262 and 0.297 Ω cm2 in turn. The cell with Co-GDC interlayers sintered above 1250 °C showed high stability due to the constant ohmic resistance and stable triple phase boundaries (TPBs) of cathode, which were proved by impedance, distribution of relaxation time (DRT) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Sr migration was fully prevented by the Co-GDC interlayer sintered above 1250 °C after the cell operating for 100 h as showed by Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), which was helpful for the long-term stability of the solid oxide fuel cell.

This study seeks to understand whether people substitute between recreational cannabis and conventional over-the-counter (OTC) sleep medications. UPC-level grocery store scanner data in a multivariable panel regression design were used to compare the change in the monthly market share of sleep aids with varying dispensary-based recreational cannabis access (existence, sales, and count) in Colorado counties between 12/2013 and 12/2014. We measured annually-differenced market shares for sleep aids as a portion of the overall OTC medication market, thus accounting for store-level demand shifts in OTC medication markets and se...

In this study, a stable rugose morphotype of Salmonella was first induced by sequential exposure to subinhibitory concentrations (SICs) of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) (ranging from 50 to 300 ppm over 18-day period) in tryptic soy broth. Then, rugose and smooth morphotypes of Salmonella Typhimurium ATCC 14028 and Salmonella Heidelberg ATCC 8326 were characterized for biofilm forming abilities on polystyrene and stainless steel surfaces. Rugose morphotype of both ATCC 14028 and ATCC 8326 exhibited higher Exopolysaccharide (EPS) formation than smooth morphotype (p ≤ 0.05). Also, the SICs of NaOCl (200 or 300 ppm in broth m...

CONCLUSIONS: Prediction of USCP after UPBI is reliable using asymmetry of the CST on MRI, as well as clinical hand assessment. Before 5 months of age, DTI tractography provides strongest predictive information, while HAI specifically aids to prognosis of USCP at later age points. Conclusions: Experimental conditions allow for an effective acoustic stimulation of the inner ear by an implant screwed to the osseous otic capsule. The mechanical effect of BC stimulation with a titanium implant placed in the bone of the ampulla of the lateral semicircular canal significantly exceeds the effect of an identical stimulation with an implant placed in the temporal squama at a conventional site for an implant anchored in the bone. The developed research method requires the implementation on a larger number of temporal bones in order to obtain data concerning interindividual variability of the observed mechanical phenomena.

The objective of medical tools for personal use started to go beyond measuring health parameters and vital signs, offering accurate, as well as easy and patient-friendly measurements. Lately, they are also coupled with aesthetic appearance. Elements of design thinking and UX become an ever more organic part of product development – and that’s also visible when looking at hearables. The trend also allows getting rid of societal stigmas bound with medical devices. Millions of people don’t want to wear hearing aids because it’s connected to aging and is perceived as being more dependent while signal...
