Examining re-injury worry, confidence and attention after a musculoskeletal sport injury.

CONCLUSIONS: Psychological characteristics of previously injured athletes may be influenced from the duration of: (a) medical treatment, (b) injury, (c) physiotherapy treatment and (d) absence from sport, when they return to competition. More research needs to be conducted to confirm the present results. PMID: 31684702 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: This method of isokinetic data analysis through fast Fourier transformation can be used to improve diagnostic accuracy of a difficult detection injury. Even present, a partial ACL injury can produce a stable knee during isokinetic testing and could be used to detect candidates for conservative treatment based on strengthening exercises, reducing surgery risks, and financial and social impact on patient's life. ConclusionsSeveral shared and unique barriers and facilitators to using the stratified care approaches for non-specific LBP among Canadian physiotherapists and chiropractors were identified. Findings may help inform the design of tailored theory-based knowledge translation interventions to increase the uptake of stratified care approaches in clinical practice.

This report describes the development and implementation of a physiotherapy-led bronchoscopy service from a regional hospital perspective. What is known about the topic?Although ESoP and ASoP physiotherapy roles are well established in the UK, such services appear to be only just evolving in Australia. Clarity on the definitions of extended and advanced physiotherapy roles have been articulated by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. However, there is a paucity of evidence published on the practicalities of establishing advanced or extended scope cardiorespiratory physiotherapy services within Australian ICUs.What does...

This study primarily aimed to assess the time needed and effects of an NMES protocol on muscle architecture, neuromuscular electrophysiological disorder (NED), and muscle strength, and secondarily, to evaluate the effects on plasma systemic inflammation, catabolic responses, and clinical outcomes.MethodsWe performed a randomized clinical trial in critically ill TBI patients. The control group received only conventional physiotherapy, while the NMES group additionally underwent daily NMES for 14  days in the lower limb muscles. Participants were assessed at baseline and on days 3, 7, and 14 of their stay in the intensi...

CONCLUSION: We have observed that a coexistence of a long opening time of the anal canal and / or the presence of a stable enterocele are factors that significantly reduce the effectiveness of the surgery leading over time to ODS score values close to those present before surgery. In the fisrt case we suggest a pre and post-operative perineal physiotherapy, in the second case a Dougla's platsy KEY WORDS: Defecography, Obstructed defecation syndrome, Rectocele, Recto-anal prolapse.
