Appendix intussusception in a young patient with Crohn's disease

FuksSummaryAppendix intussusception is rare, can be responsible of chronic unexplained abdominal pain and is mostly associated with inflammatory changes or endometriosis. A 23-year-old woman with Crohn's disease was diagnosed invaginated appendix by CT-scan and colonoscopy after several acute atypical abdominal pain episodes. These episodes were suspected to be independent of the Crohn's disease and to be attributed to the intussusception itself. A resection combining ligation of the base by colonoscopy and cecectomy by laparoscopy was performed successfully. However, no argument for Crohn's disease was found on the pathologic examination.

In this study, sitagliptin nanoparticles (sizes ranging from 210 to 618 nm) were developed. The bioadhesion properties of the nanoparticles, as well as the swelling of the nanoparticles on the mucus membrane aided in sustained drug release. The pattern of drug release was in accordance with the Peppas model. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy demonstrated that there were no significant interactions between sitagliptin and chitosan. Conclusion: Condylar tissue changes point to the osteoclastic activity in the posterior region of the condyle. These adaptive changes point to bone resorption in the posterior condyle. Type II collagen and VEGF contribute to the MCC remolding induced by the TIPD. CONCLUSIONS: Spinal shrinkage equally affects men and women who perform the same work. There are no changes in spinal sagittal alignment throughout the workday in office workers.
