Let's fix it at the source! The disappearing clinician scientist
We read with interest the article by Somekh et al on the disappearing entity that is the “clinician scientist” and would like to thank them for highlighting this issue and applaud the European Paediatric Association/Union of National European Paediatric Societies for tackling it.1 The role of doctors in medical research is critical; the in sight and knowledge they add through lived experience can help identify gaps in medical science. As medical students, we are the doctors of the future and take this opportunity to provide our perspectives as invited by the authors.
