A324 The Impact of Bariatric Surgery on Health Care Costs: Six-year Results from A Canadian Bariatric Surgery Cohort Study
Bariatric surgery results in significant and sustained weight loss, improvements in obesity-related comorbid conditions and increased quality of life. There are limited data on health care costs of patients who undergo bariatric surgery in Canada. The study objective is to examine the impact of bariatric surgery, specifically laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) on the health care costs of patients over a multi-year period.
