ConclusionOther bacteria beyondH. pylori enter the focus in research on gastric carcinogenesis. However, we are still far from a thorough understanding of the pathophysiology of host-microbiota interaction and its impact on the development of malignant and precancerous changes.
Only a paucity of large-scale perspective and cross-sectional studies on H. pylori infection in China have been published. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence and risk factors for H. pylor...
CONCLUSIONS: Selected candidates from the outcome of in-vitro urease inhibitory were further examined for anti- H. pylori activity by well diffusion method against H. pylori bacterium (DSM 4867). Compound D2a showed good anti-H. Pylori activity with zone of inhibition 10.00 ± 0.00 mm and MIC value 500μg/mL as compared to standard drug acetohydroxamic acid having zone of inhibition 9.00 ± 0.50mm and MIC 1000μg/mL. In- silico studies played an important role in designing the potent ligands against urease protein as well as in explaining the binding pattern of designed and synthesized ligand within active ...
Background: Insulin resistance, the primary mechanism of metabolic syndrome, promotes gastric carcinogenesis. Metabolic syndrome is associated with sarcopenia. We aimed to investigate the association between sarcopenia and gastric carcinogenesis, including precancerous conditions such as atrophic gastritis (AG), intestinal metaplasia (IM), and dysplasia. Methods: The study included adult patients who underwent gastroduodenoscopy at a checkup center. AG and IM were evaluated using endoscopy. Based on muscle mass, sarcopenia was defined as a skeletal muscle index
(University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine) Penn researchers are first to assess Helicobacter pylori infection and gastric cancer risk in Americans, certain demographics and ethnic groups.
CONCLUSION: Recombinant ferritin was produced by the baculovirus expression system, which has the potential to display exogenous proteins, and may aid in the delivery of drugs for disease prevention and treatment. PMID: 31720971 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
AbstractPurpose of ReviewFunctional dyspepsia is a common condition, and the condition is defined by symptoms using Rome IV criteria. This review addresses the issue of functional dyspepsia in elderly patients, epidemiology, investigation, and treatment.Recent FindingsRecent studies show that while the prevalence of dyspepsia declines in the elderly, it is still prevalant investigations to confirm the diagnosis (including mandatory upper gastrointestinal endoscopy) must exclude organic disease. These include ulcers (particularly associated with nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs),Helicobacter pylori pathologies, cancer, c...
