Although AVS is a well-established procedure, many aspects remain controversial, including optimal patient selection for the procedure and exactly how AVS is performed and interpreted. Despite the controversies, a growing body of evidence supports the use of AVS ...

HaefeliAbstractExenatide is the first approved glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist subcutaneously or intramuscularly injected for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Typical therapeutic plasma concentrations are in the low pg/mL range therefore requiring ultra-sensitive quantification. To enable the accurate evaluation of pharmacokinetic studies, we established a UPLC-MS/MS assay with a lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) of 5 pg/mL (1.2 pM) using 20...

ConclusionWhile these practices were implemented because of sound biologic plausibility or encouraging observational data, well-done RCTs have failed to show evidence of effectiveness. These examples raise caution in introducing new clinical interventions into widespread clinical practice without sufficient high quality evidence demonstrating efficacy.

ConclusionTaken together, the findings of in vivo and in vitro experiments proved that AESS could significantly suppress postoperative peritoneal adhesion formation through inhibiting the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway. Our researches provide important pharmacological basis for AESS development as a potential therapeutic agent on peritoneal adhesions.Graphical Abstract

ConclusionOur data suggest that arecoline may attenuate or prevent bone loss by suppressing osteoclastogenesis and promoting osteoblastogenesis. These findings provide evidence supporting arecoline's use as a potential therapeutic agent in bone-loss disorders and diseases.

Conclusion: Our results advance the current mechanistic understanding of the pseurotin-induced inhibition of IgE production in B-cells by linking the effect to STAT signaling, and associated modulation of B-cell proliferation and differentiation. Together with our finding that structurally simpler pseurotin analogs were able to reproduce the effects of natural pseurotins, the presented work has implications for the future research on these secondary metabolites in the context of allergic diseases.Graphical abstact

This study compared biointeractivity (pH of soaking water and calcium ions), porosity, water sorption, solubility, compressive strength, lap shear strength, as well as the apatite forming ability of three calcium silicate-based capping materials: Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), Biodentine (BD) and Tech Biosealer capping (BS).MethodsOne hundred and five discs of the tested materials were prepared in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The materials' pastes were placed in Teflon molds and allowed to set before testing. The pH and Ca+2 ions were measured by a potentiometric method. Porosity, water sorptio...

The human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell line CSUASOi003-A derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of a patient carrying two heterozygous mutations (2249G>A p.G750D and c.2809G>A p.A937T) in CRB1 gene was generated by non-integrative reprogramming technolo...
