International Union of Psychological Science Young Investigator Award

International Union of Psychological Science Young Investigator Award The Union's two Young Investigator Awards are given in recognition of young post-doctoral scientists who has already made a significant contribution to psychological science through excellent research, refereed publications, success in securing research grants and visibility. Two awards are available in this category: one is for young investigators within basic science, and one is for those working within applied science. Presentation of the awards will be at the 31st International Congress of Psychology (ICP) in Yokohama, Japan, July 2016. Awardees will be invited to present an address at the Congress. Funds to cover travel and accommodation related to attending the award ceremony will be provided. The deadline for nominations is 31 March 2015.

In this study, the obtained IC50 concentration of 51.25 μg/mL exhibits significant anticancer activity against A549 cells than other tested concentrations because of the release of zinc ions, which induce the cell apoptosis. Furthermore, studies on cell cycle validate that ZnO NPs arrest the cell cycle at the sub-G1 phase of A549 cells. These results suggest the utility of phytogenic ZnO NPs for various biomedical applications.Graphical abstract

CONCLUSIONS: This is the largest cohort reported in the literature of patients with frostbite injuries treated with HBOT. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may show positive impact on the demarcation level of frostbite and, despite the common side effects, it generally causes no long-term sequelae.
