We examined our primary care birth cohort of 158,510 pediatric patients, of whom 214 patients met 2017 FPIES diagnostic criteria. We measured the influence of FPIES on developing subsequent atopic disease.ResultsPediatric FPIES incidence was between 0.17% and 0.42% depending on birth year. As in prior reports, most patients had an acute presentation (78%), and milk, soy, oat, rice, potato, and egg were common triggers. The mean age of diagnosis was 6.8 months. Atopic comorbidity was higher in patients with FPIES compared with healthy children (AD, 20.6% vs 11.7%; IgE-FA, 23.8% vs 4.0%; asthma, 26.6% vs 18.4%; AR, 28.0% vs 16.7%; P

Conclusion: Patients with overlapping AD and psoriasis have a high prevalence of hand involvement, poor response to topical therapy, and may require multiple systemic agents to treat. In a patient with known history of psoriasis with recalcitrant hand disease involvement, atopic dermatitis should be considered. PMID: 31801394 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

We present a case of a 58-year-old man, with the typical clinical aspect of PRP with a four-month onset of the disease. The histopathological and dermatoscopical findings confirmed the PRP diagnosis. The routine laboratory results were in normal limits, except the number of eosinophils, which was elevated and the number of lymphocytes, which was lower. After a thorough examination within a hematological consultation, the cause of hypereosinophilia remained unknown. An imagistic examination was performed and a prostate hypertrophy was noted. The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level was found to be increased. The urologic c...

Authors: Conforti C, Zalaudek I, Vezzoni R, Retrosi C, Fai A, Fadda S, Di Michele E, Dianzani C Abstract The skin is a dynamic organ that continuously eliminates an infinite number of keratinized cells through physological mechanism. Chemical peeling is a widely used cosmetic procedure in medical practice. This technique consists of the application of one or more chemical ablative agents to the skin's surface in order to induce keratolysis or keratocoagulation. Exfoliation is followed by skin and epidermal regeneration from the adjacent epithelium and skin adnexa. Moreover, through an inflammatory reaction and the ...
