Face transplant patient Richard Norris will be the subject of a documentary airing on NBC this Friday at 10 P.M. Eastern time.

This editor recently met and spoke with Mr. Norris during part of the filming of the documentary at 100,000 Angels gathering of his medical flight team Mercy Medical Airlift. His outcome and progress after his surgery was truly astonishing to this former transplant surgeon.
Mr. Norris’s full face transplant at the University of Maryland included the donor’s tongue. He is able to speak with only a slight slurring and his able to taste and smell.
