Treatment Outcomes Following 45 GyRBE to a Post-Induction Target Volume in Children with Group III Orbital Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma

Despite widespread concerns of radiotherapy toxicity in children with head and neck tumors, recent Children ’s Oncology Group (COG) findings suggest that the use of 45 Gy results in an unacceptably high rate of local recurrences in patients with Group III orbital rhabdomyosarcoma. We therefore evaluated outcomes in our pediatric patients who received 45 GyRBE using proton therapy to a post-induction che motherapy target volume.
