Conclusions: ET-1 secretion by astrocytoma cells was only stimulated by the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and TNF-α. Fluoxetine, simvastatin, and resveratrol significantly inhibited this IL-1β- and TNF-α-induced ET-1 production.
