Clinicopathologic Features and Genetic Characteristics of the BRCA1/2 Mutation in Turkish Breast Cancer Patients
Breast cancer has become one of the most widespread female malignancies worldwide, accounting for 25% of cancer diagnoses among women (1). It is also the first leading cause of female cancer mortality, accounting for 14.7% of cancer deaths (1). Although male breast cancer is scarce, accounting for nearly 1% of all breast cancers, the prevalence of male breast cancer is also increasing by 1.1% each year (2). The etiology of breast cancer is still unknown, and there are many factors that may increase a woman's chances of breast cancer.
