ConclusionIn selected cases, endoscopic management is more cost-effective, minimally invasive, has less post-operative complications, and leads to a more expeditious recovery. Therefore, the role of therapeutic endoscopy for gastric perforations secondary to foreign bodies should always be considered.

CONCLUSION: Men with rectal prolapse were younger, healthier, and had relatively better anorectal function than women. The Delorme-Thiersch operation in men promoted lower recurrence rates and was advantageous in preserving the fertility of young patients, but the incidence of complications was also higher in men. Adequate counseling and preparation for the possibility of complications are needed. PMID: 31726002 [PubMed]

CONCLUSION: SIL is a laparoscopic technique that can safely be offered to patients presenting abdominal diseases. The main advantages include enhanced cosmetic results and reduced abdominal trauma. The main disadvantages are patient selection, a longer operative time for some procedures, and a need to expose the operative field for some other procedures. PMID: 31710087 [PubMed - in process]
