Authors: Huang Y, Li M, Zhou L, Xu D, Qian F, Zhang J, Zhou X Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common chronic systemic autoimmune disease. Recent studies show that gut flora plays an important role in regulating the systemic immune response, and gut dysbacteria are linked with systemic chronic inflammation in the development of RA. Our previous results found that Qingluo Tongbi decoction (QLT) can treat RA effectively. The present study explored the effect of QLT on gut flora in an adjuvant-induced arthritis (AA) rat model. Thirty rats were divided randomly into three groups: a control group, a model group, ...

In conclusion, acupuncture needling, electroacupuncture, and fire acupuncture alleviated IMQ-induced psoriasis-like lesions. By contrast, electroacupuncture was more beneficial in reducing the inflammatory response, which might be related to locally dampened neuropeptide levels. Observations support the therapeutic effect of acupuncture for psoriasis and indicate a neuromodulatory mechanism in treating psoriasis by electroacupuncture. PMID: 31467575 [PubMed]

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is defined as a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disorder that causes damage to limb joints and progressive injuries to secondary organs. Medical practitioners prescribe Methotrexate (MTX) as standard care medicine for treating RA. However, long-term application of MTX has shown to have adverse health-related effects. Divya Amvatari Ras (DAR), an Indian Ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation has been described in ancient texts to provide relief from RA inflammation associated distress. Therefore, in the present study, we explored the biocompatibility, anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic efficacy of D...

Abstract The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is an extensive endogenous signaling system with multiple elements, the number of which may be increasing as scientists continue to elucidate its role in human health and disease. The ECS is seemingly ubiquitous in animal species and is modulated by diet, sleep, exercise, stress, and a multitude of other factors, including exposure to phytocannabinoids, like Cannabidiol (CBD). Modulating the activity of this system may offer tremendous therapeutic promise for a diverse scope of diseases, ranging from mental health disorders, neurological and movement disorders, pain, autoi...
