Defense Motion To Modify $81 Million Final Judgment For Iraq War Veterans Denied

PORTLAND, Ore. - The magistrate judge presiding over the personal injury lawsuit filed by Oregon National Guard members in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon for hexavalent chromium exposure during a Restore Iraqi Oil mission issued an order on June 4 denying a motion by the contractors to modify or amend the May 10 final judgment awarding $81 million to the 12 veterans whose claims were tried in October 2012; the supersedeas bond binding the defendants' insurance carriers for the principal amount plus interest was approved May 23 by the magistrate judge (Rocky Bixby, et al. v. KBR, Inc., et al., No. 09-632, D. Ore.; See 5/21/13, Page 14.).
