Error in Coding of Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire Scale

In the Original Investigation entitled “Grief in Children and Adolescents Bereaved by Sudden Parental Death” published in the September 2011 issue of JAMA Psychiatry (then Archives of General Psychiatry), the coding used for the Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire-Jr was incorrect. The scale ranges from 0 to 6; the authors had coded the scores on a scale from 1 to 7, which inflated the total scores. The resulting means were incorrect. The data in Table 2 were affected, but the errors did not affect the conclusions or interpretations of the study. A Letter of Explanation has been published that details the source of these errors. Th is article has been corrected online.
