CONCLUSIONS: MicroRNA-646 remains a low level in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. It inhibits the proliferative potential and cell cycle progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells by targeting mTOR. It can, therefore, inhibit the development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. PMID: 31696477 [PubMed - in process]

Abstract This investigation aims to study the effect of curcumin on the proliferation, cycle arrest, and apoptosis of Epstein-Barr virus- (EBV-) positive nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells. EBV+ NPC cells were subjected to curcumin treatment. The cell viability was evaluated with the CCK-8. Cell cycle and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometry analysis. Expression (protein and mRNA) levels were detected with western blotting and quantitative real-time PCR, respectively. Curcumin efficiently reduced the viability of EBV+ NPC cells. Curcumin induced the cycle arrest of the HONE1 and HK1-EBV cells positive for E...

CONCLUSION: This is the first report in English that exclusively described the long-term 5-year survival data in patients with both rT3 and rT4 recurrent NPC after EEN. The data suggest that EEN is a feasible treatment to improve survival with minimal morbidities in patients with rT3 and rT4 recurrent NPC. However, more studies with larger patient size is recommended. PMID: 31701754 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

LINC01116 contributes to cell proliferation and migration in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Cytoplasmic LINC01116 interacts with MYC mRNA to stimulate MYC protein and therefore enhance MYC transcriptional activity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. LINC01116 is transactivated by MYC protein in turn. The contribution of LINC01116 to nasopharyngeal carcinoma progression is mediated by MYC. AbstractLong noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been demonstrated to be frequently involved in the development of cancers, whereas only a few of them was investigated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Here, we found that LINC01116 was highly expres...

ConclusionsIntegration of FMT-CT and MSOT could allow comprehensive and quantifiable evaluation of hypoxia in NPC. These findings may potentially benefit patients with NPC undergoing radiotherapy in the future.Graphical abstractA novel multimodality imaging strategy for three-dimensional evaluation of tumour hypoxia in an orthotopic model of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Abstract Radiotherapy is the main treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); however, radioresistance limits the therapeutic efficacy and prognosis of patients with NPC. Here, we plan to identify the genes involved in radiotherapy response. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from three paired NPC patients with pre-radiotherapy and post-radiotherapy were extracted. Next-generation deep sequencing was then performed to identify the PBMCs transcripts profiles in response to radiotherapy. Data of gene chip GSE48501 was obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. The gene integration of differential...
