Prescribing patterns of physicians working in both the direct and indirect treatment sectors in Iran; findings and implications
ConclusionsThere are a number of areas of potential concern with physician prescribing in this study. These include the high use of antibiotics in both sectors, potentially inappropriate polypharmacy in the Direct sector, as well as possibly the overuse of injections especially in the Indirect sector, increasing costs and potentially patient harm. These will be the subject of future research projects.
