Tamariscinols U–W, new dihydrobenzofuran-type norneolignans with tyrosinase inhibitory activity from Selaginella tamariscina

Publication date: December 2019Source: Phytochemistry Letters, Volume 34Author(s): Xiao-Ru He, Liu-Yun Xu, Chen Jin, Peng-Fei Yue, Zhi-Wang Zhou, Xin-Li LiangAbstractThree minor new dihydrobenzofuran-type norneolignans, tamariscinols U–W (1–3), and two known phenolics were isolated from the ethanolic extract of Selaginella tamariscina. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. All isolates were evaluated for their inhibitory effects against the mushroom tyrosinase. Compounds 1 was the most potent compound (IC50 = 5.75 μM), which exhibited a threefold activity as that of the positive control, kojic acid.Graphical abstract
