A case of renal tuberculosis following BCG therapy for bladder cancer
Learning point for cliniciansA 49-year-old patient came to the hospital with pyelonephritis and high fever. He was treated for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer with Bacillus Calmette –Guérin instillations. An abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography was obtained, revealing rounded masses of low-density in the left kidney. Several tests were performed, confirming mycobacterial infection. The patient was successfully treated.
