SmileDirectClub to hire nearly 1,000 workers in Texas
SmileDirectClub Inc. is getting bigger — this time in Texas.
The Nashville-based company, which sells invisible teeth aligners directly to consumers and recently went public, plans to hire 850 people and invest $36 million for a new dental manufacturing hub in the Central Texas town of Kyle, about 20 miles south of Austin. In return, it is in line to receive a $2.2 million state grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund.
