ConclusionRRA must be initiated within 58 days after surgery in patients with high-risk DTCs. Under this approach, risk of SIR and associated mortality risk may be reduced. RRA timing for women in reproductive ages with low/intermediate risk groups may be planned according to their pregnancy/breastfeeding intent. For other low/intermediate risk groups, they can safely proceed according to the capacity of the medical facility and related logistical considerations.ResumenIntroducciónEs difícil adoptar un enfoque científico basado en la evidencia con respecto al intervalo de aplicación de la ablaci...

We present maternal and offspring data from 24 included studies, which have been quantitatively analysed after study quality assessment, to identify relationships between maternal diet and offspring body weight (BW), feeding behaviour and glycaemic control. In 11 data sets, exposure to NNS reduced maternal BW during pregnancy, with no effect on litter outcomes. Meta-analyses on offspring BW during weaning (1123 offspring) and adulthood (646 offspring) identified small decreases in BW for both sexes. Subgroup analyses revealed reductions in BW of rat, but not mouse models. High dosage appears to be a potential factor for re...

In this study, we used liquid-chromatography tandem-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to screen for 16 steroid hormones in matched blood and blubber samples from free-ranging common bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). Seven steroid hormones were detected and quantified, including two progestogens, two androgens, and three corticosteroids. Using principal components analysis (PCA), we explored relationships between hormones in both matrices and three physiological states: sexual maturity in males, pregnancy, and acute stress response. Plasma and blubber testosterone and its precursors, 17-hydroxyprogesterone and androstene...

Whether or not to circumcise your baby is a personal decision often determined by a variety of social, cultural, medical, or religious circumstances. Parents have the right to choose what they believe is best for their newborn and typically undergo extensive research before deciding what’s best for their family. So, what is the process of circumcision? Once parents decide to move forward, about an hour before the procedure, doctors use an anesthetic to numb the baby’s penis. The area is then sterilized and the excess skin on the penis is clamped and cut. Finally, the physician covers the penis in bandages or ga...
