The Birds and the Bees: Speaking to Children, Adolescents, and Families About Gender and Sexuality

The goal of this session is to provide child and adolescent psychiatrists with effective communication skills to talk with children, adolescents, and families about sexuality and gender with regard to health and wellness, as well as emotional conflict and risky behaviors. This Clinical Perspectives will highlight the importance of doing so in an individualized way that takes into account all aspects of identity, including race, culture, religion, and ethnicity.
