Stirring the melting pot: introduction of practice-based module to the cultural competency exercise for child and adolescent psychiatry trainees
The Workshop is designed to show participants how to utilize a cultural competency curriculum module using simulated cases at their academic or practical settings. By understanding the need for a unique approach to culture-based training and the need to introduce a module of videotaped interviews to child and adolescent psychiatry, we aim to identify difficulties for trainees to explore such multiple cultural aspects as religion/spirituality, nativity status, gender identity, race/ethnicity, and sexual orientation.
