#heretostay: how to assess digital media use of adolescents

The sociocultural landscape of adolescent life has changed with digital media (especially social media and video games), a near constant presence in their lives. Increasing evidence of the impact of digital media use on adolescent psychological well-being has implications on mental health assessment. There is a current absence of a unified recommendation for digital media assessment. Child and adolescent psychiatrists need and deserve more support on how to assess media use by their patients.
