The diversity-informed tenets for work with infants, children, and families: a tool for promoting diversity-informed clinical practice

This Workshop will introduce the Diversity-Informed Tenets for Work With Infants, Children, and Families to promote understanding of social justice issues affecting practice and describe a new tool for addressing obstacles to diversity-informed practice and cultural humility. Increasing diversity in the United States provides opportunities for using diversity-informed, culturally valid approaches to understand and support families. The diversity-informed tenets offer a context for addressing racism, homophobia, and other systems of oppression by providing a framework to reflect on personal beliefs and behaviors to improve practice.
