31.3 reflections on the truth about suicide: considering suicide in racially/ethnic diverse transitional-age youth (tay)

Even as the US youth population is becoming increasingly more diverse both racially and ethnically, suicide rates among particular minority transitional-age youth (TAY) populations also are increasing. This presentation will: 1) present data on current suicide trends in ethnic/racially diverse TAY; 2) review the unique stressors that diverse TAY face that may contribute to suicide; and 3) discuss implementing culturally competent suicide prevention strategies for diverse TAY.
