Child psychiatry international medical graduates (imgs) in the united states and beyond: barriers and opportunities

Our goal is to increase awareness of the challenges that international medical graduates (IMGs) face throughout their clinical career. The presenters will address ways to meet those challenges. In addition, they will discuss opportunities available for IMGs to reach their goals. Program directors will be able to appreciate the experience and struggles of IMGs and learn about how IMGs can enrich the treatment process by providing culturally sensitive care to patients and their families. The presentation also will serve to break down some possible barriers in communication between the American graduates and IMGs.
