43.3 barriers to mental health care for ethnically diverse youth and their families

Mental health awareness in ethnic minorities is pivotal in reversing the stigma associated with mental illness in these communities. Thus, identifying strategies to address this public health challenge is essential. For this presentation, we seek to use real examples demonstrating barriers to care for ethnic minority youth to help providers encourage and facilitate treatment.
