Comprehensive care for the management of adhd: psychostimulants alone don ’t cut it

The goals of this session are: 1) to present the evidence base and current strategies for pharmacologic, nonpharmacologic, and combined treatment of ADHD; 2) to describe effective behavioral interventions for ADHD, discussing an evidence-based comprehensive summer program; 3) to elucidate best practices for school-based intervention; 4) to clarify the role of neuropsychological testing in the assessment and management of ADHD; and 5) to detail what empirically sound methods may alleviate practical executive function deficits in those with ADHD.
