79.4 the autism task force: making our hospital more asd-friendly

Hospitalization can be scary and overwhelming for any child, and this is particularly true for children with ASD. These children often have unique sensory and communication needs, and when hospital systems are not prepared for these differences, it results in frustration for both families and hospital staff alike. This is particularly important given that individuals with ASD are more likely to require hospitalization than typically developing individuals.
